James Hosinec & Carol M. Isaac Scholarship
– POLICIES TO POWER SOCIAL CHANGE –
After earning her BA at McGill University, Jasmine Lam decided to get some professional experience before pursuing a master’s. She moved to Kenya to work with Somali refugees, helping them access clean water, food, shelter and health care. The experience showed Lam what successful policy and program development could accomplish. Four years later, she enrolled in the Master of Public Policy program at U of T’s School of Public Policy & Governance, drawn by its international reputation and glowing recommendations from colleagues.
“The scholarship I received has allowed me to focus on my academic studies and really engage with all the opportunities that come with studying at U of T. A great part of the MPP program has been hearing directly from senior policy advisors working today in Canada. It really connects with my career plans. I want to ensure that everyone has equal access to opportunities, regardless of their background or gender.”
